On this occasion, His Excellency Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Chairman of the Department of Community Development, stressed: “The social sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi enjoys great attention from our wise leadership, and in line with this interest, we strive with unremitting efforts to achieve the directives of the wise leadership in providing a decent life for all members of society, through cooperation with our partners in the public and private sectors and the involvement of civil society.”

His Excellency indicated that the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority works according to a clear strategic approach and plans through which it seeks to support and empower low-income Emirati families to achieve social stability and financial independence. It strives to enhance living standards and secure a decent life for low-income Emirati families in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

For his part, His Excellency Mr. Ali Rashid Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Department of Governmental Support, stated that the Memorandum of Understanding with the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority will undoubtedly contribute to strengthening the bonds of cooperation and strategic partnership in alignment with government objectives to achieve the national agenda and provide the necessary support to various segments of society. The Human Resources Authority works under its mandate to manage human resources and promote Emiratization in the Emirate; to ensure that development aspirations are reached; and to harness all the tools and capabilities that would achieve those aspirations. Its vision is to involve human capital in the various development processes and to achieve social stability in the Emirate.

His Excellency Eng. Hamad Ali Al Dhaheri, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority, said: “We value the role played by the Human Resources Authority in establishing and developing comprehensive information systems for job opportunities available to citizens in government agencies, companies, and the private sector. Cooperation with them comes within the framework of integrating the roles of institutions to achieve the vision and objectives of the Government of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Through this partnership, we look forward to empowering able-bodied individuals from families benefiting from the Abu Dhabi Social Support Program. The Human Resources Authority will provide qualification and training opportunities that will enhance the individuals’ readiness to engage in the labor market.”

His Excellency explained that the main objective of the Abu Dhabi Social Support Program is to empower members of beneficiary families to help them achieve financial stability. He urged all beneficiaries to interact seriously with available opportunities and to participate positively in the empowerment programs provided by the Authority.

For his part, His Excellency Hassan Mohammed Al Hosani, Acting Director General of the Human Resources Authority, confirmed that, under the terms of the MoU, the Human Resources Authority will support the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority by exchanging data on beneficiaries electronically in such a way that serves both parties.

He indicated that the authority will work to guide and assist in identifying available job vacancies and contribute to coordinating job opportunities, offers, and programs with a number of concerned authorities to effectively contribute to providing jobs for certain categories of beneficiaries. Further, they will work to prioritize employment for social support beneficiaries who meet the conditions and criteria specified in the clauses of the MOU.

The MOU stipulates that the agreement concluded between the two parties strives to empower members of the beneficiary families by matching individuals with training and job opportunities and sharing basic educational and professional data for all beneficiary family members. This facilitates the process of matching with empowerment programs in a manner commensurate with their qualifications and abilities and thus enhances their integration, participation, and positive contribution in society as well as securing a decent and stable life for them.

According to the signed Memorandum of Understanding, to serve the two parties, the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority will exchange the data of the beneficiaries through an electronic link, in addition to guiding and assisting the beneficiaries of the support to register in the database of the Human Resources Authority. The Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority will also communicate with beneficiaries nominated for appropriate work opportunities to match them with training programs and job opportunities, which in turn will facilitate their entry into the job market in the future. This will reflect positively on their financial independence and social stability. Empowerment programs are also mandatory for qualified individuals in beneficiary families and who are able to work, so the beneficiary or any member of their family is obligated to participate to the empowerment programs.

It should be noted that the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority is looking forward to signing more Memoranda of Understanding due to the importance of the strategic partnership network. This will enhance the portfolio of programs and services provided to citizens benefiting from the social support program.
