Activation Programs
Activation Programs are a range of programs and initiatives designed to support families receiving social support in achieving family stability and financial independence. They empower family members based on their capabilities and educational qualifications, helping them develop their skills, enhance their opportunities to integrate into the labor market, and promote self-reliance.
ADSSA works closely with its strategic partners across the public and private sectors to expand access to training, education, and skills development opportunities for members of beneficiary families. The Authority also ensures that its Activation Programs are aligned with the Abu Dhabi Government's strategic priorities and serves as a link between beneficiaries and the entities delivering these programs across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
As part of its commitment to the continuous development of its Activation Programs and initiatives, ADSSA adopts a data-driven approach through its data integration system with government entities, regular updates of beneficiary family data through home visits, and ongoing communication with beneficiary families to better understand their needs and challenges. This enables the Authority to develop programs that are more effective and responsive to the evolving needs of beneficiary families.
The provision of social financial support by ADSSA is linked to beneficiaries' commitment to, and active engagement in, the Activation Programs, in accordance with the Authority's Social Support Terms and Conditions and approved Compliance Policy.
The Social Worker
The Social Worker serves as the primary point of contact and the key link between ADSSA and beneficiary families. They assess each family's circumstances and evaluate its needs through home visits and ongoing communication, while providing guidance and counseling and connecting families with the most appropriate Activation Programs and services. The Social Worker also follows up with beneficiary families, helps address the challenges they face, and refers cases requiring specialized intervention to the relevant partner entities, thereby supporting family stability.
Activation Pathways
Economic Activation
Economic Activation is one of ADSSA's strategic objectives. It aims to strengthen the ability of beneficiary families to achieve financial independence and improve their standard of living through programs and initiatives that develop skills and enhance opportunities for labor market integration. These include career guidance, job matching, educational and training programs, workshops, open days and volunteering programs.
Social Activation
Social Activation aims to strengthen the capabilities of beneficiary families and empower them to address social challenges through the services and programs delivered by ADSSA in collaboration with its partner entities. These efforts promote family cohesion, improve quality of life, and enhance the ability of family members to manage their daily lives. Social Activation Programs include workshops, events and specialized services for different groups, such as senior citizens and People of Determination, as well as life skills programs that support beneficiaries in achieving family stability and financial independence.
Financial Awareness
As part of its commitment to promoting financial awareness across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, ADSSA seeks to enhance the financial awareness of beneficiaries, helping individuals and families build a secure financial future. Working in collaboration with its strategic partners, ADSSA equips beneficiaries with the knowledge, skills and practical tools they need to manage their financial resources effectively. This is achieved through financial literacy workshops, one-on-one financial counselling sessions, and awareness materials covering topics such as financial planning, personal budgeting, saving, building an emergency fund and responsible spending. These efforts empower beneficiaries to make informed financial decisions and adopt sound financial management practices.
